Important Information for Parents

When you enroll your child or children at Tracey & Heather's Dance Synergy, we want to make sure you're fully informed and kept up-to-date with our rules and requirements. Read below for more information, and then get in touch with us to enroll!

Dress Attire

  • Very Important: All dancers should bring a water bottle to classes. Our kiddos work very hard and we want to keep them hydrated. No soda or juice please.
  • Hip Hop, Tap, Gettin' Down Classes: Anything comfortable, clothing can have a baggier fit if desired, and please bring a pair of clean tennis shoes to change into. No Street shoes are allowed inside the studios.
  • Ballet, Lyrical/Contemporary, Pointe, Jazz, Tumbling: Leotards or sports bras are suggested for the top half of the body, as well as tights/dance shorts/leggings on the bottom. We prefer no baggy clothing; snug fitting attire is appropriate.
  • Shoes: If you child is enrolled in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, or Pointe, they will need the appropriate shoes.

If you have questions about what style of shoes to order please feel free to contact the studio today.

Classes

If a dancer is going to miss class, please call the studio and leave a message. Please do not send a dancer to class if he or she is sick. Tracey & Heather will cancel classes in situations of inclement weather. It is your responsibility to call the studio or check your email for notices of class cancellation.

When a child is in class, parents are welcome to wait in the waiting room. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Please remember that students are in class and we hope to minimize disruptions from the lobby.

When an adult is in class, their child(ren) age 12 and under are NOT allowed to wait in the waiting room. Contact us today to learn more.

Costume Deposit

There is a $70.00 non-refundable costume deposit due January 15th for each class subject the dancer is enrolled in, with the exception of Hip-Hop, Technique, and Tumbling unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.

Parents are responsible for Hip-Hop costumes — a description will be given out by the instructor in spring. Costume balances for Hip Hop and Tumbling will be due in May. For answers to any questions you may have, please contact us today.

"My daughter has been a dancer at Tracey & Heather for six years. Dancing here has exposed her to not only mainstream styles of dance, like jazz and contemporary, but also a style of hip-hop that you only see on TV and in the movies.

She has grown as a dancer through recreational classes and a competition team. She has also made friends with a very diverse group of kids—all with a common passion—dance!

As a parent, I appreciate the variety of dance styles and class options for students and the opportunity for competition dancers to take master classes with well-known choreographers in the dance industry.

Dancing at Tracey & Heather has allowed my daughter to learn, grow, and shine in an activity she loves!"
